About Busbud and NeredenNereye

Busbud is the leading online travel agency focused on intercity bus travel and mobility, with the broadest global coverage. Travelling is our passion, and we work hard to offer the most comprehensive network of city-to-city travel. We are in 83 countries and 21,000 cities and offer more than 2,300,000 million bus routes. Our goal is to provide a more environmentally friendly, accessible and interconnected world.

About the role

As a Full-Stack Developer, you will build the APIs and experiences powering NeredenNereye's mobile-friendly website used by millions of travellers worldwide. You’ll work on a modern, cloud-native codebase (Typescript, Javascript, ReactJS, NodeJS, PHP, Postgres and Redis).

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, build and deliver the next generation of features for travellers using our public API and mobile-friendly website to book trips and support them before, during and after their travels
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Software Engineers, both in your team and in other teams inside Busbud, to deliver high-quality products to our customers
  • Follow data-driven approaches to conduct experiments and iterate features
  • Find and address areas of improvement to make our platform and product best in class
  • Conduct design and code reviews
  • Implement appropriate test coverage, automation, monitoring and rollout plans
  • Improve operational excellence for the site so we can detect, diagnose, prioritize and address issues systematically.
  • Ensure the site's pages are fast, beautiful, and accessible for our customers.
  • Exemplify software development excellence by balancing scope and deadlines to deliver on quality and speed with appropriate test coverage, monitoring and rollout plans.

How can you impress us?

  • Five years of full-time work experience in software engineering focused on API or web development
  • Humble competence: You know what you know well, the limits of your expertise and knowledge, and when to ask for help. When you are confident, people respect and trust your opinions. When you are not, you are happy to learn from your peers.
  • You are willing to take on any task to help reach your squad goals. You can touch backend and frontend alike, even though you may have a preference somewhere.
  • You have multiple years of experience developing, testing, releasing and supporting code that you have written that makes you a proactive team player
  • You're a quick learner and curious - as one of the first members of a new team we are building, you'll be learning and covering an extensive technical and product surface area
  • Excellent communication skills - can easily explain technical ideas to a non-technical audience
  • Experience shipping one or more APIs, web or mobile apps, ideally currently and publicly available on the internet or in the Google Play and App Store
  • Projects that show an aptitude for technical excellence and product sense on mobile devices
  • Entrepreneurial sense: you can Get Stuff Done effectively with limited resources and a small team
  • Solid technical chops: people respect and trust your opinions
  • Passion and growth mindset: you love what you do, and you are always keen to learn new things

What’s in it for you?

  • Competitive compensation based on experience
  • Unlimited paid time off
  • Healthcare benefits (health, drugs, vision, dental)
  • Remote
  • Apple equipment so you can work from home effectively
  • Free bus tickets for all over the world
  • Work in a diverse and inclusive environment
